An Imperial Seventy model washer no doubt. I had the matching dryer to this growing up.

Have a good one,
James

Gotta Love the Imperial 70. I believe the one shown was at the end of the run of the belt drives. I bought one new in 1986 (my first washer). I don't remember if it was a leftover 1985 model or not, but it was New In Box from Ann & Hope. I don't have it anymore. I wish I had room to take one in. I have to say the winged Super Surgilator is one of the best agitators (IMHO). Sometimes you don't know what you had until it's gone. :-)

The latest one I saw on a showroom floor was in September of 1988. The store was a small local retailer a few blocks from where I grew up. Turnover was not as fast as the major chain frachises that sell appliances, so that could explain why this model was there after 2-3 years. I had never seen a Whirlpool with a white tub before, and while I am not knocking DD models, coming across this BD buried in their midst was like finding a nugget of gold. I so wished we were in need of a washer just so I could steer my parents toward this. Soon enough though, someone came and staked their claim on it. I was glad it found a home regardless.

Have a good one,
James
