i need to find some shops who can rechrome,rebuild timers,switches and repair porcelin spin baskets if necessary

I have had great luck with Midwest Timer (midwesttimer.com) in Benton Harbor, MI for timer repairs and rebuilds. Not sure where to recommend for switches, though...
Re-Chroming could probably be done by an automobile restorer - look for someone who does electroplating in and around your hometown. I know a great place, but it is way up here in Montreal!!
For porcelain repairs to a spin basket, you may be able to do it yourself with a product like POR-15. I recoated the basket of a 1950 Westinghouse Laundromat with it and that worked out pretty well.
