My sister is upgrading her kitchen to 'stainless steel' Samsung appliances(including the DW) and granite countertops.

I told her I wanted her old Maytag DW(which was repaired in a recall issue with the rinse aid dispenser)

It is really in great shape with one rust spot on the upper rack.

It is model # MBD7100AWQ

Serial # 15380740YF

Can you give me some information on this machine?

Great performer?

Does it dry with a heating element or a fan assist dry?

Samsung

She really was very happy with the Maytag.

Will she be equally happy with the new Samsung with hidden controls?

The Samsung is coming from PC Richards.

Yes, it continues to circulate the water while it's heating the water.  And i very seriously doubt she'll be happy with that Samsung dishwasher.  I've not heard good things about it at all.

I might have to get rid of one Extra Dw.

Would you keep this DW(Maytag) or keep the KitchenAid(KUDJ230Y1)?

I had that same dishwasher...

It's superb...wish I had taken it when I moved...

It doesn't have a fan-assisted dry...

However, I never used a rinse agent, and still got excellent drying results...

Hi Gary

That's a Wicked tough choice.

I'm these days partial to the Maytag. It does have 2 Full sprays on the top and the bottom, and also I had one briefly and loved it. The only thing I didn't like on the tag was the previous owners had some kind of Scented Rinse Agent that just permeated the Plastic Interior. Since I cannot tolerate fragrances, I gave it away. Other than that, I would say that it cleaned as good if not better that a KA.

Runs a tad bit longer, but that Tower and the Wash Arms make it a Good Cleaning Machine.

I'd say take it, and if you don't want it, I'll gladly take that machine off your hands. As I know where it is coming from. Let me know.

Recall?

What was the problem?

Your link is not working.

The recall was in connection with the rinse aid dispenser. If the link does not work call Maytag @ 800-675-0535 with the complete model and serial number. Also see www.maytag.com...

My Maytag needed a new heating element as part of its recall. Does your new Maytag need one as well?

I thought I read that as well.

I believe it was a fire issue.

I think this is the model that is replacing the Maytag.

What is that about:

"Fan-driven condensing drying system"?

Reviews were not great.

Maytag vs Samsung!

peteski50's profile picture
Gary - I know some who bought the samsung and was not happy with it. The maytag is a better performer hands down. The Fan-driven condensing drying system is mearly a fan and nothing more. Those reviews are correct. They retutned the Samsung to sears after having it for less than a month!

Should I keep the KA or keep the Maytag?

What is your opinion of those machines?

Maytag vs Samsung!

peteski50's profile picture
Hi Gary,
I would keep anything that works good and uses enough water and doesnt take forever to run. The cycle on the samsung is also well over 2 hours. And after that is not a good cleaner. The older maytag and kitchenaids are far better!

Guys, his sister is getting the Samsung not him.  READ.  Comprehend.  Gary, don't you already have one KitchenAid?  Keep the Maytag and get rid of the Kitchenaid that you show above.  You need varity.

You are correct.  I have a Superba 22 series in my Kitchen as my daily driver.

Just wanted to be assured that the Maytag is a great performer too(as good as the KA or GE2800?)

I will give the '23' series on loan so if I ever want it back, I have that option.

RECALLED MT DW

Not only did Gary say that the MT DW had already been fixed you can see the green sticker below the model # tag which indicates that the machine has been updated for safety.

Storm Wash

Just saw my sister's new DW that replaced the Maytag.

So far she is happy with it and said that it takes less time than the Maytag.

Interesting concept about the 'Storm wash' feature.
