These were largely sold by gas companies. Outside of the gas company showroom, I saw one, in a customer's house on my second newspaper route. Those paper routes were golden oportunities for an appliance voyeur. |

Yes, on my paper route I got to peek into a kitchen of one of my customers & got to see the 40" Frigidaire electric range (which would be the range I would have if I were into electrics "back then"), while conversing about how she used to "fling newspapers & sling burgers" as I was doing...
Of which I was warned NOT to be peering in through the door at that neat, same electric stove, when, years before, my sister & I (chaperoned by an "older person" going to the door with us, warning me "what could happen") were going trick or treating on Halloween & some old man lived there (who didn't seem to want to be pulled away from his card game with his buddies, yet had his porch light on, passing out candy anyway!) -- Dave |
