Could the dishwasher be D&M?
I do think the oven is a caloric!

The dishwasher uses many gallons of water and by the end the dishes are perfectly clean...

you won't have to run two or three cycles and spend much more water and electricity to get the dishes "almost clean".

Yes, they can be called "green" appliances again.

Brandon.......... the organs........ where??

Brandon, on your profile photo there is the Conn Theatre organ and right side looks like an old Wurlizter? and then on the left a Rodgers Church organ...... where are these at? Are they for sale - any good prices? I have an Allen ADC 3500 Theatre organ here at home that I play/practice on but looking to upgrade to a church/classic organ if I could find a good price on a decent instrument.

What in idiot of a person portrayed here-trading those nice vintage appliances toward CRAPPY new "Green"ones? How dumb I would KEEP that NICE vintage kitchen no matter what brand the machines are.the new "Green" appliances should meet the krusher BEFORE those beautiful ones pictured.

Hey. The conn 640 organ in the center is the new organ sitting in my living room.

That picture is taken at the storage facility of a piano and organ store in Omaha Nebraksa. The left organ is a Rodgers from the mid 90s or so. Its $12,000. The right organ is a 70s Thomas with 25 pedals. There are two identical ones there.

I can't tell for sure partly because this photo has been so altered, as these appliances were not this color when they were made, even the control panels on the oven and DW have been airbrushed.

The dishwasher is Gaffers & Sattler.  There were whole subdivisions of entry-level houses in Houston in the late 1970s early 1980s with this dishwaheer.  I venture the whole lot is G&S--gas cooking appliances. They were the cheapest of the D&M dishwashers.

Definitely not a "true avocado", but the appliances do go well w/ the cups & dishes & "kichen stuff" in the background...

Gonna have to scan one of the pic's in my BETTER HOMES & GARDENS kitchen remodeling book: There's a Sears Robuck Avocado kitchen there that is soooooooo awesome to see!

I agree, the appliances must be a "regional thing", in which case Gaffers & Sattler would be what my money is riding on, too!

Brandon.......

Is there a website for the Omaha organs? Glad you got the Conn - should be lots of fun. Thanks for the info!

Must be mucho Photoshop.  That kick-panel belt line on the DW is unholy-high for a D&M.

I agree, it looks similar to the D&M ilk of the sixties with the mid-panel latch that swung way out, rather than the discrete one under the bottom-middle of the control panel.

A TRUE Avocado Appliance, you'll use, and use, and use again, and still use, then when it breaks, you'll fix and keep on using!"

Believe me, there are plenty more examples; this one comes to mind...!

Mommy, this kitchen frightens me with that green, glowing thing in front of us and the Treffids on the wall.

Not to mention all of the lost storage space behind those soffits.

Aside simply from the fact the cabinets in my house were custom built onsite, where most every kitchen around had soffits, I have cabinets instead.  Was one of the things that sold me on my house and the builder.  Unfortunately, the builder quit putting cabinets n up there a few years after my house was built.  Adds so much more storage space.

Well, to me, those are plenty of cabinets, but that very same book does have soffits (I think referred to as facades) with additional cabinets built right into them over the cabinet work underneath...

People don't think of Avocado as a "warm colored kitchen", but me, I feel warm all over looking at that pic' more & more...

Should "color" my stainless steel set w/ some gold or avocado contact paper & maybe woodgrain, too, for the handles on my appliances!

That pic' was hard to scan; had to make a copy from the page of that book & the ink was too "heavy" for reg. paper... So I used photographic paper (& the first time a sheet of reg. paper stuck to the photo paper) while there was nothing I could do to get that "blur" off of the wall oven; it took two tries!
