I have a '70s era Maytag that needs a home. It still runs great. There are a couple of problems with it that some enterprising/handy person could probably fix: a quarter-sized chip in the porcelain in the tub, and a tiny spot of rust. There is also some rust on the outside, down near the bottom.
I've had the machine for about 10 years, all trouble-free. I bought it second-hand from a company that rebuilds older machines, which is why I can't exactly name the model number. According to the wiring diagram on the back, it's an A106; however, I don't think the A106 had the softener or bleach dispenser, and had only 3 water levels. My machine has 4 temps, 2 speeds, 3 cycles (regular, perm press, and soak), and 4 water levels.
It's free to anyone willing to pick it up in San Francisco.
