In Mass.

I just don't know how people can live with an appliance for years and not notice what brand it is.

Martin, I was thinking of this topic last night when I remembered how a friend did not even know whether her stove was gas or electric. Being butch is one thing, but this was too much.

I was asked by this friend of mine if I had a Washer and Dryer for sale.

She told me her last set was Gas. And couldn't use either one of them because she didn't have a Gas Hook up in the house for a Gas Washer and Dryer.

Honest Injun. That's the Truth.

Some people know people by their cars, while we know them by their washers.

the stories we could tell!.......people amaze the hell out of me!

I advertised a GAS dryer on CL, I printed it several times in the ad and told the guy it was GAS, do you have a gas hookup?, came to the house, referred to it again as GAS, he loaded it on the truck, and then he commented on the little cord it had compared to his old one, I told him thats all thats needed on a GAS dryer........GAS, I don't have a GAS hookup, I need an ELECTRIC dryer.....

Thats when you want to BITCH SLAP the hell out of them!....the scary part is how do they get thru everyday life, without paying attention to the simple stuff....

and these people are allowed to reproduce!

too many times theres AD's for GAS washers

Kenmore Filter-Flo

You may find this interesting, but there was a period in the 80s here in Canada when there was actually such a thing as a Kenmore Filter-Flo. Sears of Canada had the odd Kenmore built by GE for a year or 2 during the 80s. Strange, but true. And I think they even called the Activator a Roto-Swirl.

My mother had one of these as her first washer when she lived on the farm.....left it there when they moved to Jersey......

this is similar to what the Amish people use, since no electricity is allowed....
and I have been on a Amish tour, where it was explained they would buy an electric wringer, remove the motor, and put on a gas powered one similar to this....but my question is, what happens decades/generations from now, where like us, wringers become obsolete and unavailable, or even the motors to replace electric ones are gone.....what will they do next?......our only choices would most likely be FL wether their wanted or not, but were used to electric service, this is something their forbidden to use....would they change their ways/values?

Well...

It's close to a Kenmore, but not quite. Looks more like a Roper to me, but maybe my eyes are playing tricks again!

Well, we've all heard of Dynamo liquid.  Maybe gas washers use DiGel for detergent lol.  And we're just totally uninformed about this maarvelous mechanical development.  Guess when the machne is old and needs to be replaced, it's pooped out.

Well, to me, what's incredible is that these people know that it's a DISHWASHER, not a "Whirlpool"...

--Too small to be a "spa"...! LOL
