See thread #31731 from December(link below)regarding a Kitchenaid KA 17 that needs a new motor. I'm thinking about adopting this dishwasher myself. If anyone has come across a motor for this machine recently could you please let me know? My December searches were fruitless.
Also, is moving it tricky? Aside from dropping it, is there anything I should be careful of?
Tools - we have the usual household tools. Wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. Will I need anything special for this job? I'm imagining multiple runs to Lowe's and getting tired already. ;)
Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

out there. i see motors from time to time on e bay. i have a machine just like that one and put a new motor in it 3 summers ago when i first got it. the motor i bought from pearsol parts store in cinti oh. they are now owned by dayton apppliance.

seals are readily available as well and you can do the job just a few basic tools, mainly screwdrivers. there are people here who can guide you thru it.

good luck!

I recently started working at Cincinnati Appliance Parts (Pearsol's). I appreciate the business. If you need more parts and you end up at the store again, ask for me. I manage the warehouse and work 8-5 M-F and 9-noon many Saturdays.

And now back to the thread on the Kitchenaid 17 series.
