I have the chance to get a free Maytag LA-712, series 02 washer in Charlotte if anyone wants it. The original owner is replacing it because it hasn't been extracting like it once did. They have a DD Whirlpool that was left in the house from the original owner when they bought it 10 years ago, and we've been testing it and cleaning it up so it can be used.
If anyone wants the Maytag, please let me know by on-site e-mail or by a post on here (I don't check my registered e-mail every day but I'll try to glance through it). I would be happy to rescue the machine. Storage is tight so please try to get it in the next month or so. I know someone who is a great shipper along the east coast who may be able to transport the washer reliably and inexpensively. I hope someone wants it! I am working now on getting a photo. Gordon |

Malcolm and Dan,
Never got a picture, probably because I've been trying to talk the owner out of dumping the machine so he's been having second thoughts. It has never been serviced since new, so I asked him why he would conclude it was beyond repair. I have told him what Dan said, so we'll see what happens. Thanks everyone, and thanks Dan. Gordon |
