Pretty cool, dishwasher under the sink. I have not seen that before. Those Maytags are awesom!!

Under the sink...

toploader55's profile picture
I believe GE offered this model in the 60s and 70s.

There was a thin rack under the sink that only could have offered saucers and flat items. The Lower rack could have accomindated dinner plates and bulkey items. Not great for capacity, but still was better than nothing. Cheers for GE being the leader in that application. I never saw anyone else designing anything esle for that situation.

Don't know.

Eric was the Counterpart in getting that pair in NJ. With BrianL.

It would be ironic if I had to bring that set back to NJ after they got it for me. LOL. But the Coppertone set is up for grabs. I'm now full to the Gunnels.

I'm ferklempt thinking about how I have to thin out the collection.

Per a recent discussion in another thread, GE apparently still offers an undersink dishwasher.

Want it!

I've been looking for a gas-fired D808 big door dryer! If they change their minds and you don't want it, please let me know.

Maytag Drier

It sure seems to me that the Maytag dryer drums held up much better than the Whirlpools over the years.

The dishwasher was full and I only had a moment to glance inside. Indeed there was a slim upper rack. Still pretty neat!

I would love the coppertone set but I've got no space. I would have made an offer on this nice late 800 set but they were pretty firm, and these are ladies who seem to like me. Oh well.

Ahttp://www.  That's a sweet set - one of my favorite dryers, and gas!  Drive by the house again after it's sold and the new owner takes possession - you might find it in the alley.

That would be my suggestion. Wait until the house sells and slip a note in the mailbox for the new owner. You might be surprised.

We had that dishwasher back when we first "remodeled" our kitchen in 1974. At that time it was a Hotpoint and had one cycle controlled by a knob. The half top rack sat on top of the bottom rack and the two rolled in and out together. When we replaced the dishwasher in 1987, it was the model in your picture and by that time, the half top rack was set up like a regular dishwasher rack to slide in and out independently. Noisy, but good functioning machines...

My Uncle and Aunt Had One....

....they installed their under sink model in the mid 90s in an old kitchen. Worked really well...I think they kept it until they built their new house. Only problem was capacity....that slim upper rack really limits what you can load into them.
