Hi guys. I have tried many searches and cannot come to any conclusion. Are twin tubs more popular in South Africa? When I watch movies, esp older movies, Americans are more into top loaders and the British are very into front loaders. Why is this? I am eager to find out.

Top Loaders...

....I think that top-loaders are familiar to most Americans and water has traditionally been very inexpensive in most areas...none of us really thought much about water use and energy consumption back then.
