Hi guys.

I think its an 18871 'Super Buy' Microtronic LE, from around 1983/84.
Not 1000rpm, but 800rpm instead.

One of these lived next door to my aunt and uncle in Blackpool - last saw it about 20 years ago.

A very samrt machine, although this one looks a tad beaten up and how the hell have they cracked the facia edging? This plastic, although not thick, is quite strong and by no means will be brittle.

Well spotted Darren.

Paul

Is it me or is the door release button missing?

Hiya Mark.

Yep - the door release button is missing.

I think someone has failed to immediately fathom out how to remove the facia and has tried to prize it off with a screwdriver - hence the cracked sides.

The door release button mechanism is quite fragile, but would only break off if pushed far into the machine.

Pretty Sure....

That's the machine my Gran had. It was definately that design & i'm pretty sure it was only 800rpm because when she replaced it i remember saying to her would she be ok with the basic 800rpm Tricity Bendix she bought & she said 'yeah the Hotpoint was only 800 too'.

It's bloody miles away from me though, dammit.

I nominate Darren to get it ;-)

Liam
