Wow, how lucky I am.  While visiting CA this past week Kevin hosted a dinner and gathering at his home last night.  What a great collection he has and we all had a good time.  Thank you Kevin for hosting us!

It was great to see you, Don!! Always fun to get together with friends and wash clothes. Why didn't we think to use the timer on Kevin's camera so you could be in the photo also?! Do you like my sash made out of Philippino detergent packs?

Travel Plans

My trip to California had to be postponed in May.  The tickets are good for a year and in March there is a tennis tournement that PSC wants to attend so we'll head south then.  I hope to make it to the midwest again this summer.  My father in law has family in Ohio and wants a traveling companion for the visit.  I have a close friend in Indiana close to the end with cancer.  I am trying to scheme another hurculean moto cross to cover parts of the midwest if and while I am there.  It doesn't help that so many of the people I enjoy are scattered to the winds across the country and I'd like to see them all.  Peter says he's done with 5,000 miles windshield marathons, (4 in the last 12 months) but he's agreed to one more extravaganza in a motor home before retiring from ground travel.  The beauty of this coupling is that opportunity springs in a moments notice and I continue to practice fluidity in planning.

Hey Don, I'm glad you were able to come by for a little visit, some dinner and of course a few loads of laundry.   It was really great to see you again, along with Scott, Joseph, Russell and of course Richie!

We only did four loads of laundry, but Rich helped to make sure nine (yes 9) different washers were used during the various washes, rinses and spins... (like I used to do when I first started my "collection")!

Kelly, just let me know when you're planning to come back to So Cal.   You are more then welcome to come by AND it will be great to meet you!

Kevin

Don I apologize for not getting the Kitchenaid portable started before you guys left.   I started it the next day and since it's been a couple months since I've run it, I kept saying "I love that sound (and) now THAT is a dishwasher!"

production line laundry with multiple machines

I guess I get that from my grandmother who had an Easy Spindrier before she got a 55 Unimatic. She kept the spindrier and sometimes when she had lots of laundry, she would wash and first spin in the Easy and then overflow rinse and final spin in the Frigidaire. She could barely get the clothes on the line fast enough.

Vintage appliance/Dinner Party

Thanks for posting Don, it was great meeting you!

Yes, it was too bad you were not in the group photo, but perhaps by that time some of us were not thinking too clearly after the
wine Ha Ha!

And Kevin, another GREAT get-together \ dinner party . Today is Saturday (two days after)and I'm still talking about it!! Still, it is hard leaving your place without loading that "Coppertone Kenny" on the back of my pick up so it can come home with me!!!

I've been too busy to post earlier, but glad I waited cuz I just saw that recipe for Coconut Cake posted by mixfinder that has me drooling. ...

Good food, Great time & wonderful people; again, THANKS.

Russell B.
