However it wasn't as good as I had hoped. I found the laundromat on an online listing. It had a very small webpage which gave the details about the place. It made it sound like one of the best laundromats in Fresno. $1.25 for top loaders which is the cheapest around. And it did say the top loaders are GE's, and I was hoping for Filter Flo's. Even the front loaders were cheaply priced and you got 10 mins of dry time for every $.25. Better than the usual 7 minutes. So, I get there and check it out. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. The place was pretty dirty, the floors needed some serious mopping. About half of the front and top loading washers were out of order as well as about half the dryers. But, I figured since I was already there I'd try it anyway. I found a row of 4 Filter Flo's available and loaded them. I wasn't used to seeing the smaller size wash tub compared to the deep Whirlpools I usually use. But the loads I did weren't as large as usual and actually filled them perfectly. So I throw in the Sears Ultra Plus, some STPP and put on the FF pans. All seems good so far, but the washer I used for my whites took forever to fill. Then, the washer I used for my dark clothes had a clutch problem. I could hear the motor working at full speed but it was agitating slow, and that was after it would actually start agitating since it would sit there not doing anything for about 15 seconds after the wash cycle started. I let them go through their cycles, however during the last spin I lifted the lid and pressed the lid switch on the struggling GE to find out it was also spinning very slow. Getting frustrated I put the load of light colors in a dryer, add a FS sheet and add 2 quarters. 5 mins later I go to check it to find out that it wasn't heating at all. So now I'm really not happy. The machine with my darks finished. Just to find they were still pretty wet compared to the light colors that finished first. I pulled them out and put them in the one next to it. Plus they didn't feel rinsed completely since it REALLY struggled to agitate during the rinse cycle. So I put them in the other machine and ran them through another cycle. I then finally found dryers that worked, heat and all, just to see a dryer open by itself that a young college man was using. A pull string from a pair of shorts he had in there wound around a screw for the door latch between the drum and casing. I ran over to try to catch his clothes before they hit the floor and called to his attention. The dryer kept spinning even with the door open making everything that much harder to fix. We finally got the string unwound and his clothes back in the dryer. Now, as I'm folding the first couple of loads I had since I had to wait for my darks to finish washing, I see the dryer for my light colors not spinning. After a few choice cuss words, I found that one of my Mom's shirts had wound up between the drum and casing. I open the door which of course didn't stop the spinning yanked the shirt out of there since it was balled up and wedged tight and LUCKILY didn't damage the shirt. I closed it, let it run the last 3 mins since I was only starting with a quarter or 2 at a time to make sure the heat actually worked. When another shirt got wound around the screw for the door latch like on the college kids dryer. A few more cuss words later I pulled everything out, with the drum still spinning, and put them into the dryer I just pulled my whites out of, since that one seemed to work fine. I would have complained to the people who came in to "clean up" the place, and I use that term VERY loosely since all they did was wipe off the tops of the washers, the dryer windows, picked up the paper towels in the restroom and took out the trash from there, and sat on a bench watching TV the rest of the time, BUT, they probably didn't speak a word of English and although I am Mexican myself, I can't speak a word of Spanish. I finally got everything folded up and loaded into the Buick and left. I vowed to never go back there again. Which really sucks because I did like using the Filter Flo's. And I think they're the only place in town nearby that has them. There is a lot of potential for that laundromat to be a very nice place. They need to fix up the broken machines, and there are a lot of them, mop the floor.....scratch that.....SCRUB the floor Joan Crawford style, and get some people in there who really know how to keep a place running. I don't know if the people who came in own it, or are just employees. I may write to the owner and let him know of my experience. Had any of my clothes been damaged in the dryer, I would have no choice but to eat that, since they do have signs posted saying "Using washers and dryers at your OWN RISK! We are not responsible for any damaged or lost clothing." So yeah, it was an exciting yet a let down day. The only real perk was the college guy was very nice and very good looking. We had a little bit of a conversation, but what we did had involved smiles and a few laughs with trying to deal with those damn dryers lol. But, my clothes did come out clean and it was nice to hear the infamous sloshing of the Ramped Activator doing it's job. They were probably early to mid 90's models. I WAS going to take a few pictures or maybe even a short video, but with the condition they were in, I thought I'd save you all the revolt and not subject you to that. I'll probably catch hell for it, but yeah, that place was BLARFF!!

I love your narration!  Don't mean no harm, but thanks for a good old fashioned laugh to brighten my Monday from hell!

LOL No harm taken Frank, and you're very welcome. I usually try to add a little humor to a frustrating situation. And I was thinking if and that's a big IF I go back there, I'll know what machines are safe and which to avoid.
