Not sure which forum to put this in, but since the older machines may need it most, I will start here.......

John/combo52 has mentioned many times when asking for advice, repair help, or diagnostics.....basically what's wrong.......It helps US to help YOU, if you give as much info as possible....wrong repair advice from too little info could have your machine in worse shape than you started....

IE: as much info to the problem as possible, make, model, age, style, etc. of that particular model.....pics are also helpful......

the main thing is many will not respond because of too little info......or worse, someone may give you wrong information because their picturing one machine in their head, and you have another machine in person.....and then you'll wonder why its not working right.......

don't get me wrong, we love to help, give advice, and to see you have got your machine up and running again.....sucess stories is what its all about.....

Many here have a lot of experience to help......take full advantage of it.....many of the DIY are priceless.....as we thank those who have helped us in the past to keep our vintage machines running....

Sorry if you feel like I am ranting......just want to help both parties reach their goal...

Sense of community!

I like to search through the forums and read older repair help threads. They are very helpful, and especially if they are common problems that certain machines have, their can always be a fix found. I am new here, still fresh out of the box, but not new to message boards. The search feature is a powerful tool, I use it all the time when I am browsing on the website.

I am very new here, but I have a LOT of manuals on Maytag washers and the newer JetClean models from 1990+, I also have a handful of books on GE/Hotpoint washers and dishwashers too. Id like to share my knowledge with everyone and try and help people.

I think its great that people can pool together their knowledge and help others in need, and I have to thank many people for helping out others, and giving me something to read, and something I can use!

Visiting other forums (Audiokarma), I've always liked the stickies the admins use for posts like this. Would be really cool to have something like that within the Imperial/Deluxe/Super when it comes to repair type help, etc., however I totally know that it would require additional resource time to develop.

Or stickie by major brands... oh that would be cool.

Ben
