The Custom was the lower end model with less buttons. This one is the Imperial which was a step up from the Custom |

What do you think guys? Should I take the plunge? I don't know anything about them but I've always wanted one of these early Kitchenaids, and this one is practically in my backyard! |

Is a 12 series. If it were closer I'd be on it! Unfortunately, it's far from me. Definitely get it Neil! There are other members here with repair information on these, but they tend to do a very good job, and fast. They lack and internal water heating capability though, so for best performance either crank your water heater up all the way or have a small booster heater near the machine.

145 is hot enough if you run the kitchen faucet first for this machine. This machine goes through the cycle so fast that if your hot water pipes are reasonably well insulated the machine should work great. Always remember the hotter the water the more damage it and the detergent will do to the dishes, and mechanical parts of the machine. And the newer detergents work in cooler water anyway. |

I'm going to look at the dishwasher tomorrow night. Fingers crossed that it's in resurrectible condition! The guy also has a double oven Gibson range I'm going to look at. |
