GE Wringer

We had one decades ago and the blocks kept breaking in the wringer, they were well known for this problem. My Grandmother's was a gas powered GE Wringer.

I think Frigidaire was the only manufacturer of clothes washers that never made a wringer washer

I would love to find a circa late 1940's Whirlpool wringer, or a mid '60's Lady Kenmore w/ Roto-Swirl agitator.

GE wringer

GE not only made wringer machines, but also made a "twin tub" with spinner to compete with Easy. I have a GE laundry guide published in 1932 with many pictures of the twin tub and several of that year's wringer machines. It also has detailed instructions for doing laundry, such as how to make soften your soap before adding to the water. That guide makes for some very interesting reading.....
