I had some leftover wood from the kitchen renovation project. I cut it to go in my laundry closet in front of my little portable whirlpool. It keeps all the detergents and stuff at the right level so I don't hafta bend over. I've had this little washer since I was in college 8 years ago. It was perfect there, where I didn't have a hookup. It would connect up to the sink faucet like a portable dishwasher. When I was finished, I could just wheel it back into the closet.

This closet just off of my bathroom is has been it's home since I've been in my own home. Once I moved into the house, I got the washer a mate...the compact dryer to go with it! A bracket on the wall holds the ironing board. So all my laundry care goes right in this nifty little closet!

This house used to have the washer in the kitchen. The original plan was to just not put anything on them, and extend the kitchen countertops over to it...That was until I walked into Home Depot and found the little Danby front loader and it followed me home! Now, it's home is in the kitchen hooked up to the original washer location!

I also had this washer in my aparments and really liked it!

Wasn't thrilled about no timer, and the computer board failed one, but overall NICE!

Wasn't sure the tub "sinking" so much with the weight of the water, was OK, but one learns that it is normal.

Great set-up, Steven. It looks like you have everything you need in that closet.

And you gotta love the 200 degree wash on the Danby which is great for work clothes and kitchen towels (if your Danby is a front loader like mine).

Yeah, way cool. Though, can you remove the shelf easily if there's a need to get back in there to fix something or vacuum around behind the machines?

BTW, the 200-degree wash is also going to come in very handy when avian flu crosses over to humans and goes pandemic. I'll bet they sell tons of those machines at that point.

Yep, the shelf is just resting in there on two wooden strips I fastened to the interior walls. To get the washer out of there, it's just simly a matter of cleaning the shelf off, then lifting it out, and then rolling the washer out the closet.

Getting the dryer out however is a bit more challenging. It requires two people to lift it off it's shelf!!
