Eavining :)
as some member know, my aqualtis is rusting, well ive gotten quite worried lately about it, yesterday it finished a cottons wash and my utility room is crampt and small so my washer is sandwiched between a wall and the dishwasher so i have to pull out the soap drawer to prop the dii ajar so mould wont build up, and as i whent to pull the drawer out and the handel bit on the drawer was sopping wet!!
so i think this may be why its rusting.
wonder why it does this?
Tom

Your not using tablets in the dispenser. they are awful at disolving in cold water & they block the inlet hole. Funny you should mention this. I went to a customers house just this afternoon there indesit prime was leaking water from the soap drawer i knew straight away what it was & i advised them to put them in the back of the drum in future.

I know that you have probably done this but take the soap dispenser out & check that they is no build up of old powder that has collected over time because the outlet hole to the outer drum on the aqualtis & prime machines are prone to blocking.

why not use liquid detergents they are easyer to disvole? thats what i use for all my washing and never got any problems with liquids detergents

Because liquid detergents do not clean adequately in most cases for heavily soiled laundry.

It has also been proven that continual use of liquid detergents can encourage the growth of mould and mildew in a machine as well as leaving laundry looking dull. This is due to the lack of bleach which is found in powder and tablet detergents.

Optima: i live on a hill so i took every precaution to level out the machine, it does however jump during the spins so i dont realy know if it has any thing to do with that.
Washboy2005: hit the nail on the head :)

Well what do you expect when you buy a Indesit. So fussy & time wasting trying to balance a load it will try & try to correct the unbalanced load but after so long most other machines will cancel the spin to protect the machine. indesit will just think sod this & spin the load no matter how great the imbalance is.

actually the wash times are very quick and its not fussy on balancing.
ive noticed that it regulates teh time, not sure if it should do that

I use powder and tables majority of the time and liquid for jeans and delicates and never had this problem, do u clean your detergent draw regularly or maybe your water pressure is too aqualtis are actually Well built machines and require high water pressure so i think its maybe years of build up of old soap

IINM tablets are intended to be placed directly in the drum, not the drawer.

Hey Tom, i've got an Aqualtis too, which i was so proud of. but its list of problems is now growing.
The pump was always a bit noisy, and now the bearings are on their way out, its super silent days are long gone. Mine also suffers from rust around the soap drawer. I think its condensation build up after running a hot cycle. normal front loaders are be able to vent via the soap drawer but as the aqualtis has the large door/control panel the steam is unable to escape and condenses on the metal causing the rust.
Thats what i think.
