Newly acquired Whirlpool set was a craigslist find. Washer needs a belt, dryer works. They both need some TLC.

Nice set!!!
I miss my imperial 70 washer. I didn't know about automaticwasher.org when it started to fail so I thought it wasn't something I could save. :-( Anyway it's been gone since '97. I just hope it didn't go to the crusher and was saved.
That washer could clean anything. From the heaviest of towels and whites to delicate suit jackets. Imperial 70 I miss you...

They look like they are in great shape. Lucky You!

Are these regular or large capacity? I'm guessing large based on the dryer door size.

Congrats! I once had the pleasure of having use of that same washer in one of my previous apartment basements.Nice that you found them both together.

I had the dryer in gas. Only difference appearance-wise was ours had the front access panel. I saw the washer in a local appliance store in September 1988. Obviously it had been sitting on the showroom floor for a couple of years. I could not get over the white tub inside. I had never seen one on a Whirlpool.

This is a nice set, and worth the TLC it deserves. Have fun with them.

Have a good one,
James

You're lucky to find these, they look like they are in immaculate shape, and are a very beautiful set. Get a money shot!

LA7800XP Washer and Dryer Available in CT

I have the same LA7800XP washer and matching electric dryer (almond color). Both were never moved and are in excellent condition. The dryer works great, but the washer needs a new motor.

I also have two new washer outer tubs in the original box. (Long story.) I also have the required bolts and gaskets to replace them. All parts are new and from FSP (Whirlpool OEM).

I'm located in central CT. Please let me know if you have any interest. I'd hate to see these classics taken away when the replacements arrive in a week or so. Thanks.
