I remember these in Sears stores in the early 1970s, never saw one in a home I drought they sold a lot of them. These seemed to show up around the time that they were discontinuing the wringer washers. They were indeed made in Japan, I do-not know made them if you give us the full model # we have lists of Sears suppliers and may be able to tell.

I'd love to find a "Kart" even if it is Japanese. The Hoover is a newer model, is it a T1056? I like it, probably close to a 1980 model.

I remembered the cart thing. Have tried to describe it but only saw it a couple of times. I did remember the wheels. It looked more like a maid's cleaning cart than a laundry appliance to me 40+ years ago. Thanks so much for posting pics. I guess it proves that if you are desperate enough you can do laundry in almost anything. At the time it was introduced, there was lots of talk about how small Japanese "apartments" were and that this was no small appliance over there.
