Where did you find the new face? Steve (Gyrafoam) told me that you all were probably going to template and make one. The one that the boys (control tower) found in Georgia needs a face too.

Very Nice!

Steve

New control panels work

It is true, a washer I had once had a peeling and dented control panel which affected the entire machines operation. I had to spend $24 at GE (cheap at GE but it was 1982) for a new metal console plate, and, wha-la, after that, worked perfect. no more excessive vibration. no more leaking at the boot. and transmission would engage correctly for the second speed.

Only those of us who are real washing machine aficinatos can apprectiate that.

`beautiful`

WOW Greg! Very nice photos! That machine looks factory fresh, and oh so very pretty! Congratulations on the new timer dial. I am sure that is a very rare part to find these days. The finishing touch always makes such a big improvement.

OMG...how cool is that?

That is REALLY cool, gansky! You guys find the neatest appliances. (And IMHO, do the best restoration work)

I might of not been into retro appliances as much as everyone here, but since joining this site, I feel as though it's the only way to go.

That dial is so cool looking!

Regards,
Carol (who wants EVERYTHING 1958, now! lol)

Thanks for the replies everyone, I just stood and stared at the control panel for a long time, I've never seen it without broken glass! I also replaced the rinse temp selector switch, cleaned and sanded the snubber and plate smooth so it balances and spins like new!
