Are you sure you want to sell them-Maybe better to fix the machines and keep them as opposed to buying the washers built today that are just nothing more than expensive trash truck food and dump fillers. |

Yes... You caught me. I really LOVED the Maytags, but the washer started leaking on me a little bit. I'm just surprised that they've lasted for forty years! |

That is my dream Maytag set, except the dryer isn't gas. You will miss them when your new set fails in a tiny fraction of the time it took for your Maytag to start leaking.
Perhaps someone here will want to purchase your machines, but do be advised that you're not by any means sitting on a gold mine. I hope you'll make every attempt to avoid sending your machines to the scrap heap. They are capable of operating for many more years, and quite efficiently for what they are. |

Oh, I don't expect a lot of money out of them. That's why I'm asking the experts. I don't want to ask for too much, or too little. |

I've thought about Craig's List. Are older appliances usually bought and sold on here? I'm thinking about making a post on here to sell them. Atleast they might go to the right hands. |

I think the leak may be coming from the intake water valve (jet spray). This happens with them when the tube and plastic cone that guide the water spray into the tub wear out. They are realitively easy to replace and would cost no more than $25 for the two parts. That is one of the worst problems because the owners have no idea what is causing the leak and assume the cost of repair would be more than they want to pay and wind up replacing the washer and dryer.
