came my way here in the land of rust? Anyone dare to! My watchdog (Sara) from Gray's Maytag said Steve....................................... and I just got home.

Hint! Harvest gold with some creases in the side panels for noise reduction.

Hint! Austin needed the matching dryer control panel (now I want it back LOL)

Here it is! I will have a blast wiht this one! It is so clean and just like it has never been used. NO RUST! No dirt (maybe a little) but it is all clean now and washes great. It does need a timer motor which I will request from a member who may have one later on. The pulsator cone is cracked in two places. Would like a new/replacement one of those as well.

STEVE!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Nothing like a 1-18 model WC, and yours looks MINT! Load it full with towels and watch the turnover...it's incredible how much these things can hold! Is this a matched set or did you just get the washer?

Since you gave me a new control panel and are into matched sets (and I'm not much into dryers; would much rather use a 220V space for a Skinny-Mini or the DEGX1...;-)), I'll be glad to get the 1-18 dryer cleaned up for you and sent your way! I'll go ahead and put a cord and the new control panel on there as well. Let me know!

Austin:

Just got the washer. Do want an electric matching dryer. Yes it is in almost mint shape. Very little rust and hardly dirty. I don't think it was used very much at all. From my best observation, the lint filter came out a couple of times in the tub and broke the pulsator and chipped the filter. I think I can find a replacement. Did 5 loads today and yes one of them was all towels on MAXI! The turnover was the best! I will pay for the shipping or come to the wash-in if you all have one and of course that is if I am invited. I would love to have the match. I am all about sets! Hope you can get your F & P soon!

Steve,
Real cool 1/18 - it has always been my favorate washer. My Aunt had a matching Poppy set from 74 real awsome pair.
Best of Luck with it.

Steve-

Congratulations! My 1-18 is my favorite washer.
I should bring my Frigidaire front loader back
in next to it's matching dryer but for now it
stays in the garage and the 1-18 still gets center
stage inside the house. I must say the harvest
gold really looks nice on yours. I'm glad you
finally found one!

It was a Pulsator, bellows, and lint filter for my 1-18.

Pics are not avail, I guess they are too big for the website.

Thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much Larry!

off-balance 1-18

I was curious about what a 1-18 washer does when it gets off-balance.

According to the manual:

roto204's profile picture
The Frigidaire Sure-Spin system engages and slows the spin speed as necessary to rectify the unbalanced condition.

I'll have to try it on mine. I've never had a good, unbalanced load in it :-|

Hmmm...all my 1-18 does when it's unbalanced (which is 100% of the time...need to clean the overly-stiff snubber plate) is shake like CRAZY!

Must mean it has a strong clutch though, which is a rarity!
