Some members may know that my beloved blomberg tl45td top loading dryer has died
:(
the belt partialy snapped and the unit was hanging off the back pannel and the unit collapsed, i managed to throw it back together but it will never be usable again.
After thinking of replacing it, i found a nice little compact dryer to replace it with, its made by indesit and i will be buying it around about December time :)
this is where it will be bought from

Tom :)

Why post another new thread about this, when you already had one for it?

Great buy Tom- my next invention was a top load dryer but never knew one had been invented.

Hey Tom!

Could you do a video of it running with the door open when it comes?

Also, if it sat next to the Candy, It would be like a mini laundry center!

what is the point of this thread? To inform people about a tumble dryer you MIGHT be buying in 3 months time? Why not just wait until you've got it...

Chris,

its pointless.

Kids have taken over the forum with pointless threads about nothing. Treating it like Facebook meaning anything that gets posted in Deluxe by a UK member gets ignored due to the fact nobody wants anything to do with the kids.

If its not about exploding machines its about lies, fantasy or if buts.

Harsh I may be but enough is enough. Aside from various threads in the Vintage Forum nothing from the UK contingency has been of quality reading which is a shame.

I become more and more reluctant to post pictures or threads of quality reading due to this immaturity.

Rob, I agree - it's very irritating to have to sift through the threads and see who's posted it to find out whether it's worth reading or not.

I've started to do the same....

....I'm kind of ashamed to admit.

I'm all for people voicing their opinions and being part of good, healthy conversation, but this is getting ridiculous.....

Feel the same way too, but

They aren't the only reasons why Deluxe is a little down..

Aquarius1984 - LIKE for "If its not about exploding machines its about lies, fantasy or if buts"

however fantasy part sadly isn't displayed jsut in way "I will get a new washer".. this will basicly show everything:
Imperial - help with repair, telling how programme or sth works (so they have used it), or showing collection, and there is higher joy when you get something vintage, rather that something that is everywhere in the stores
Deluxe - usually negative oppineons for quality, or low water usage, but that is ok - respecting oppineons. However I often ran into fantasies like manufacturers "lying" about capacity, or wash performance etc quite a few times, like they have no control, and can do whatever they want.. and after all, if you asked them for exapmple "How can you say you can't fit 8kg in there? tried?" - they would start telling some other reasons, but they won't deny that they haven't checked anything..

So, just the quick point: Imp.-real experience Del.-very often just prepositions, sadly, displayed in a way like it was real experience, but it doesn't go further than seing how machine looks in the shop... and even more sadly, that happends very rarely, when it actually comes to discussion, because more often thread raches 20-30 reply's mostly with comments like Thanks, Looks great, or Congratulations, or some questions that are asked just not to write just 3 words, and everyone knows a reply that is so logical and obvious...

so, that's just how I see it, and I wanted to share it with you. Of course, there is number of exceptions to what I wrote upthere :)

Dex

Sorry to break it to you love, but posting language like that is not acceptable. It would appear that you are the one who needs to grow up.

Secondly, Rob is right. This forum is becoming over run with pointless threads that are too general and have no real area for discussion - and they're all started by the same few people. Do us all a favour and get MSN, Facebook or an e-mail account and have these general conversations between yourselves like the rest of us do.

It would appear that the youth of today have no idea what the point of a forum is

Yes, again.

HotpointFan, its nice to see you have adjusted well into the forum and im sure you will continue to make good friends and gain excellent knowledge.

Its been Toms choice to leave so I will leave it at that. Im sure hes made the right decision.

Aquarius8000 perhaps you should now look at the situation and re alter your schedule to account for these happenings and take what you need into the future. This excersize was not to isolate particular members, merely integrate.

Lets keep the forum to quality chat just like the Hoover Thread in Imperial, there have been to many what if, Maybe and I mights which has driven the forum apart.

I think the Deluxe forum rules may need rewritten...

Like many of the older members I too am a little annoyed with the way the forums are being treated, particularly the Deluxe forum.

This is not Facebook, Texting or MSN. If you must tell someone instantly about emails or that then the 3 listed are most suitable. A forum does not work like that and whatever gave you's the feeling that it was capable of instant messaging is wrong.

Facebook is wonderful and it's free, many members like myself use it for washing machine related and personal conversation.

Please do consider your actions before acting on the forums.

As for swearing or threatening to leave, you're showing yourselve's up and not us.

Also two more matters; alerting people of emails on the forum is not a good method as most people check their emails before logging on here, hence your posts are a waste of space.

Secondly, I personally wouldn't call buying new machines or indeed anything post 2000 "collecting". You are merely getting a modern machine to play with.

Collectables are something I personally describe as old (pre 2000), rare, classic and cause a stir among older members due to it's collectablity.

Sorry if I appear to be harsh but enough is enough.

Regards, a fellow young member AKA James.

I don't post in here much, but I still pop by and read even if I'm not posting. I've been getting quite frustrated with the number of nonsensical threads appearing - like this one, unnecessary 'cause there was already at least one open about it. Or the one with a load of pictures from shops - put them on flickr, or facebook, or similar - machines in stores we can see in pics from the stores or manufacturers.

BUT, the big thing that has gotten to me is the attitude of some people (a good example is above) - there's people on here who have been chatting on and off for years, since quite young, and just didn't think to behave like that years ago... and they/we/I don't like to see it.

We all have a bad mood from time to time, and post something a bit narky occasionally somewhere, but what makes people take notice is more if you come back, apologise, and move on, and not flouncing off in a snit.
