I hope this is in the right forum. I don't know the exact age of my machine and that is why I am posting. I inherited a Kenmore Model 70 from my nephew. It is model number 110.82870120. I would love to know how old it is and whether it is BD or DD. It is a little rough but works like a charm. Appreciate any help.

It appears to be a direct drive model, newer than 1986.

Thanks. That is what I thought but I wasn't sure. It's always great to know someone can answer washer questions so quickly.

The serial number tells the date of manufacture.

Serial Number

Dopey me. You'd think after seeing others with this same question that I would have remembered. Chalk it up to a senior moment.

The serial number is 095161167.

Is it maybe C95161167?
9 is either 1979 or 1989, likely 1989 in this case.
51st week of said year.

Or, 095161167 (without the leading letter) ... 0 would be 1970 or 1980
95th week of the year, which is not valid.

I saw my nephew today and he said it was either 88 or 89 that they bought the machine. Thanks so much for your research and information. Now if I could only find the owner's manual that goes with this machine. Gads, I guess I am never satisfied.
