I have a cleaning machine:

KitchenAid Superba Hobart KDS 17A
model 220 962 844

I am a woman who does not know much about machinery. I called a repair person because after the wash cycle it shot water out all over the floor. I can bypass this by going to the rinse and it will then drain. It is a matter of catching it at the right time.
There are people who seek these machines. Where do I advertise this machine for sale in the state of Michigan?

Thank you.
Miss AM

Could be bad news

or maybe not, Miss Anna!

You have one of the most popular models that Hobart ever produced and it has a large and loyal following especially among our members. Some love the design, some dislike it(hate is too strong a word to use)and they all have their reasons.
I always liked the design of it and the cycle selections on it and was even going to use a 17 series machine that Ed (Toploader55) brought down to Florida for me and adapt it to the newer 2 washarm design machine that I had, but we turned it around and sold it to a Grandmother in Daytona who would not give up her KDC17 machine. Her son and daughter came and got it and installed it and it is running to this day.

I think you may have a number of different problems going on not the least of which could be a leaking motor seal, or a bad timer since you say that you have to hit the timer sequence just right to get it to drain. Does the cancel drain button work? Or does the machine just keep filling and then floods the floor?

Hard to diagnose without knowing more.

Perhaps there is a member here who is saavy enough to help you out. If you let us know where in Michigan you are, then maybe someone may be able to lend you a hand.

Hope this helps.
Steve
