Fantastic . . .

. . . collection of pictures.

I love the design of the Philco/Bendix machines. That particular Duomatic is the nicest looking one they made IMHO.

Thanks, Peter

That Ball Point balance was fun when these were in the stores. I could grab hold of the agitator and swing the tub all around the cabinet because it pivoted so easily.

58 was the magical year for fill valves that offered cool rinses. Note that both the washer and the Duomatic offered three rinse temps: warm, cool and cold as did the TOL front loader. Our 58 LK had Hot, Med, Warm, Cool and Cold wash settings, although Cool and Cold were at the bottom of the A thru G settings as overrides and if you selected Cool as a wash temp, it gave you a cool rinse also, but that was the only way to get a cool rinse since there was no such setting on the rinse temp selector. Mom and Dad's London Frog raincoats said to rinse in cool water so I changed the wash temp selector to Cool after the warm fill for wash. The 58 Frigidaire Custom Imperial washer has hot, warm and cool wash temps and warm, cool and cold rinse temp settings. Easy offered the 5 temperatures made possible by the three solenoid fill valve on both the TOL washer and combo.

Stunning, Pete!

The all-star line-up of the Philco Team, including the "Juke-box Hero." Also tickled by the "Bermuda Coral." Interesting that the corrugated agitator is nearly a 4 vane copy of the one in the Philco Double Tub Wringer.

When Minnie Minorzik, my grandmother's neighbor's daughter, took me into her basement to see the new pink KM with Hot Medium Warm Cool and Cold so striking on the control panel, I stopped breathing. And then when I saw the "SUDS" I wanted to marry her.
