yup, still haven't done anything with my like new kds56. Q- is it possible to put an upper spray arm in this?? does it really matter that much that it does not have one? My wife is not big on putting ANYTHING correct in a diswasher. makes me leery about installing this. I love the retro about this unit and REALLY want to use it, but don't want to listen to the complaints when some dishes are not clean.

The answer to this is no, the whole machine was not designed at all to have a 2nd wash level under the upper rack, there is no "plumbing" in the back of the tank to feed an upper wash arm like what came out on the 18 series. You dishwasher is essentially a 16 series KitchenAid. With careful loading, it shouldn't be an issue, but that's just it, you have to be somewhat careful loading the bottom rack to make sure water isn't totally blocking the top rack, or you don't put anything in the area of the top rack that has something large facing down and blocking water in the bottom rack. Exactly why I personally do not like these 1-level wash wonder s of KitchenAids, just my personal preference.
