Does anyone have info or know how to find a parts diagram of the KDS-17 control panel? I'm a gal trying to figure out what part I need and if it's available. I haven't been able to find a diagram or owner's manual online.

The plastic timer reset switch has broken off and was lying inside the control panel cover. I'm not sure where it's supposed to connect or if it's part of a larger assembly that could be replaced. I don't want to pay for a $100 service call just to have them tell me I need a new dishwasher! I hate to lose my awesome dishwasher for want of a small plastic part. Thanks.

Hang in there!

Sorry to tell you but there is just about nothing available for this machine anymore except thru a place like this. I am trekking up to the attic tomorrow and will see if I have it for you. I am assuming that you want the white plastic piece that the door handle pushes against to push the brown wafers in on the program switch.
The KDS17 did not have its timer up top behind the control panel. It was located under the tank. I will also get you the parts manual so you can see what you need.

here is a pictgure of the reset actuator.

Is this the part that you are looking for? I tried emailing it and a service manual to someone named "kate" who emailed me but it was returned. I don't know if you are the same person, but here is the part I mentioned above.
Let me know if this is what you need and we can make arrangements to get it to you.

Thanks
Steve

Thank you so much for responding! I'm not Kate...and I'm not sure if that is the part I need...The reason I don't know if it's the same is because when mine broke last year, the repairman screwed a plastic piece from a different machine onto my broken piece so it would work. From what I recall, I don't think mine had the same profile as your picture, but I could be mistaken. If the one in your picture is from a KDS-17 it should work in my machine, I assume - ?

The timer itself isn't behind the control panel, but the plastic piece I need does attach there and has something to do with resetting the program. Looking at the bill from last year, the repairman called it the "actuator". I think I also heard him refer to it as the "program actuator". Is that what your plastic piece is?

It's such a bummer that they don't make parts anymore for these machines. I guess they figured out that they would run forever and we'd never need to "upgrade" if we were able to make minor repairs!

KDS parts available on EBay thru pfesales

Reading another post gave me the idea of looking on EBay. A new Reset Lever for my machine is available from pfesales. "New Kitchen Aid D.W.Part #108985 or 4166889 Reset Lever" They also have the spacer, Part #108984.

Now I have to figure out if the metal grommet/screw that holds the spacer and lever in place can be replaced. The metal piece is what broke off, and I can't figure out where it was attached behind the control panel. That is why I was looking for a diagram.

Pfesales has a whole lot of refurbished Hobart dishwashers posted for sale. I wonder if anyone has heard of pfesales? They seem to have received a lot of positive reviews.

For Stevet

I found the part I need on EBay but want to thank you for responding to my posts.

I'd be interested in the owner's manual you said you had but don't know how to contact you outside this Forum.
