I saw an archived thread on this forum that appeared to hold the most information about this machine that I can find, so I wanted to ask knowledgeable members for some assistance.
We came upon this machine in our quest for a cheap to free machine, but brought it home and discovered it didn't work - whether it happened in shipment or it was just always broken but showed us its pleasant side before being brought home, we are not sure. But we tested a couple of times without clothes and then we tested with clothes and the machine hung on its program with a high noise and could not proceed despite moving to different settings, turning power off,etc. So now we have clothes stuck in there wet.
So a couple of questions - Is there any way to get this open without destroying it? is it worthwhile fixing this machine? Is this a common occurence? I am somewhat handy with electronics and DIY and could attempt to fix it if its not too complicated, but am unsure of where to begin diagnosing a wsaher/dryer such as this one.
Any help to salvage our clothes and this wonderful vintage beast would be very much appreciated! Thanks so much!
