The Maytag mat will not properly fit a Hoover, FYI. Different spinner diameters, the Maytag spinner tapers in at the top. Unfortunately I don't have a spare, I share 2 with all of my machines. You could however construct one out of a rubber mat of some sort on the cheap. PERSONALLY, I run the machines without them, may not be suggested but I've had no issue yet. Also one from a Danby can be bought and trimmed as needed.

Why couldn't you buy a Rubbermaid-type sink mat and cut it to fit? |

Hey guys...thanks for the suggestions. The Maytag A50 spinner drum is narrower in diameter than the Hoover, so that wouldn't be ideal. And the mat I have for the Speed Queen twin tub is larger, so I can't interchange them. I've never actually had a problem with the clothes flying upward when spinning, but I'd just like to have the mat as an authentic accessory. The one I have currently is the original - so that must be in excess of 50 years old - and several of the "spokes" have split off. |
