I purchased this GE kitchen on craigs list and it has a GE washer combo as seen in the picture.I was needing info on what needs to be done before hooking it up and turning it on.I did find the service manual on ebay and is very helpful.

Wow, Brad, that one looks great! When it was listed, did the seller mention anything about the operating condition of this combo?? Which model number is it?? I have some pretty good information about many of the GE Combos (except the '562' model which I have... LOL).
Hoses and the door boot may be potential problems and I have heard of problems with the tub bearings. I have issues with the thermostat on mine (which is keeping it from being a dryer, alas).
Please feel free to email me - I am happy to share any information I 'learned the hard way'!!

GE WASHER COMBO

It's model # 1wd560p3p the original owner stated it was working fine up to when removing it for remodel. Are parts available for these ? I realize the part numbers change over the years when trying to locate them it can get hectic.

Congratulations on your beautiful kitchen! Does the combo have the water heater button and 4 vanes in the cylinder? If it does, it is the first GE combo. It would have a transmission instead of the variable sheave pulley system. It would also be the only GE combo to spin between the water changes. All of these features were eliminated in the first redesign.

Your machine is around a 1956-7 machine, there are almost no parts available for these machines, if you want more information on the operation, repair and parts for these Email me your PH# and I can contact you John.
