whats the difference between the 308s and 310 apart from the drum?

Depends....

If the Servis would be purely for occasional use/collection piece then get it. If it's for everyday use i think you need a modern machine, as it sounds like you have a few problems with old machines being used daily (Tricity Bendix played up & didn't you have a Bendix that had a few problems?)

Do you have quite alot of washing to get through?

Liam

Congratulations on successfully buying the 308S.
Smart looking machines and a very nice Servis vintage. Finding a virtually matching dryer (208T or the more common 209) shouldnt be too difficult either, as they surface with a fair regularity on ebay.
Probably just jinxed you finding one, but will keep eyes peeled if you want one.

The 308S was effectively the prototype version of the 310.

The basic 308 had a vitreous enamel tub and manual door slide. The 308S was given a switch door release and other option switches, as well as a stainless steel tub.

The replacement model 310 is pretty much identical to the 308S, but received some very slight styling modifications.

Heres hoping to a happy collection and cant wait to see some photos!
Paul

cheers Paul, im making the hour odd trip tomorrow morning to collect it so there should be pics up by mid afternoon, whats the spin of it, i keep thinking 740rpm?

Hi Philip.

re: your 740rpm...

Servis adopted slightly unusual spin speeds and your Servis 308S Slimline Electronic will employ 850rpm fast, 460rpm slow and 95rpm (I think) for distribute.
