I want that washing machine!! We had that same machine, purchased in 1972 in harvest gold. I could make the drive from Bakersfield, but my partner would kick me out of the house (ha!) He isn't an admirer of old appliances. (sigh)

We had the 58 LK washer in green. This must have been the dryer just under the one that matched the LK dryer which we never had. It was a few years later that I got my mom to consider having a dryer. I wonder if this one had the high BTU burner.

David, if they're your dream machines, you should grab them before who-knows-what happens! And driving to SF would definitely be better than seeing these machines get Krushed! :)

Thanks Westytoploader for posting the link! You can relax now, I rescued those beauties. I owe you. ((--::

My dream machine is a 58 LK washer and I won't rest until I find one. This 58 dryer (one model below the LK) will sure look great next to the 58 LK OR same model as this one come the day the washer gods are with me and I find her. And it's gas! My 60 LK dryer is electric.

The 1-18 will also have a good home and take its place alongside the three others I rescued last year.

Thanks again.

Dick, I'm glad that you rescued them. When there's something I covet that I cannot have, it's a relief when it finds a good place to be.

Have fun with that Frigidaire!!!

Re: 1958 Kenmore Gas Dryer:

I was going to contact this person, knowing that I don't live too far from the Bay Area. I certainly would have wanted to especially get the Kenmore Gas Dryer, because I've got a possibility of getting a Matched Washer for it.

I'm glad that Dick S. got both of them, he certainly acted fast, actually not really allowing anyone else any kind of a chance, just like E-Bay. I know a lot of you might say, "Well, Thats the Name of the Game," but it isn't always fair to those of us who don't always have funds to allow us the privlige of getting many Vintage Washers and Dryers, to add to "Our" Collections.

Peace and Happy Frigidaire Washing and Kenmore Gas Drying, Steve
