I know GE made a few Kenmore for Sears back in the early 90's and here is a good example:

Funny you should post this, because the dryer that probably matches is on Kijiji here in Nova Scotia, for an outrageous price too.

Amazing, a pair that should be together!
Was Whirlpool on strike causing Sears to buy GE products for a short time?

New-style Dryer

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe that matching dryer is one of GE's new design, so that would mean it would have occurred somewhere between whenever the new dryer design began and at least '90. The S/N on the washer means it was built in April '90. Dryer's newer than that, but anyone know when GE switched to that dryer design? Apparently they made these Kenmores at least for whatever length of time it was between '90 and the new-style dryer.

That is an unusual Kenmore, and I can't say I have ever seen one in person.

The top and lid are the same as Hotpoint and JCPenney used for a few years when production was moved from Chicago to Louisville Appliance Park, before they also got the GE style lid with the clipped corners. The Viking (Eaton's) washer pictured in the "BOL GE and Hotpoint" thread also has this Hotpoint type lid.

Since the matching dryer is in Canada, and the washer in upstate NY, I question whether these were ever sold in the US. They may both be Canadian models. Sears Canada has continued to publish full catalogs unlike in the US, so maybe a look in the catalog from that time would give some clues. If they were sold here, I don't know how I missed them.

That washer is a Canadian machine. You can tell because the water temps are "H•C C•F" and water levels are "Lo Bas", and of you look close enough, there is a extra rinse cycle which has the French word for Rinse has the C with a flick on the bottom. If you zoom in on the control panel you can see the English and French text. This style of control panels were Canadian, when I get home I'll post a picture of a BD model with the same style panel. Someone must have imported it to the US.

Here is a picture of the Canadian BD machines that had the same style control panel. This isn't my picture, just one I collected from Kijiji.

You're welcome. My Grandparents used to have one like it in a set. I wouldn't call these machines "Feature Packed", but I would refer to them as well equipped. They had 2 speeds, self cleaning filters, variable water levels, 5 wash/rinse temps, DA agi, and well priced.

Larry, I see you moved from "the land of soft water to the land of hard water"! I have friends in Monroe. Kevin, I wouldn't call that spiral-ramp agitator a "dual-action". I cannot ever remember seeing these up in Canada all the times I have ever been there from 1970-today. I know I cannot possibly know everything!

Jason I was talking about the Canadian BD Kenmore models having the DA agitators (I know what the difference between a DA and a Activator is lol). Near the end of their run up here they all mostly (with the exception of the GE made versions, and the super BOL BD models) had DA agitators and were well equipped. The Canadian GE Made Kenmore models, they had the spiral activator and were between a BOL and MOL machine.
