Hello All, Just moved into a house. The lady left a maytag washer in the shed she said it worked but leakes. I fixed the leak and it runs like new. I was wondering what year it was made?

Maybe serial number is wrong

Here's the website that dates appliances, it comes up saying the serial number is bad. Try the website after re-reading the number?

Hi Earl... Is it a wringer? Automatic? If it's a wringer, what color is the wringer release bar?

Thanks Mark I put the HK and it came up with May of 1993, I thought it was older because it feel from the sside unlike the 1994 Maytag I bought new It feels from the back.

Well...that first letter throws me, but I'm thinking it's either 1969 May or 1993 May. Does that make sense for the washer?

The LATxxxx*** means it's a post *12 series machine. That means it's about 1990 or later. 1993 sounds accurate.

Maytag must have started changing things around that time. Also what would be a Matching gas dryer model #? I no I need to post some photos.

A gas dryer of this vintage would start: LDG
Most likely something like: LDG88**xxW

My 1997 Maytags

are LAT9806 (washer)

and LDG9806 (dryer).

They have performed flawlessly.
