WESTINGHOUSE WASHER ADD

Great comparison with the GE solid tub washer [ they should have compared it to a WP washer ]. Of the several GE solid tub 1950s I have had I always though they were a little weak in washing performance. It was not until the perforated basket GE V-12s came out that I thought they built a washer that washed well enough for me to actually use for for everyday washing.

Boy howdy, the second link ("Match Your Mood") might as well be an advertisement for LSD, LOL! And was that the face of the ultra-mod woman in the print ad for Dash detergent that pops up regularly on the POD in the 'rattan' segment near the beginning?

Kind of reminded me of "Night of the Living Dead" or some such 1960's horror film.

I mean what is it with those women wandering around woods? I mean hadn't they seen "Deliverance"? *LOL*

Now one was taught at an early age to avoid woods, especially when alone. Being with a date wasn't exactly safe either! *LOL*

Westinghouse must have rented the set and dancers from the Corny Collins Show to film their "Match Your Refrigerator To Your Party" segment. There is no need to show anything other than wholesome young (white) adults having good clean fun with their 1968 Westinghouse refrigerator!

My guess is that this was a film made to show at a Westinghouse dealer convention. It was probably quite radical for the average Westinghouse dealer in 1968.

During the 'fridge decorating scenes-that woman trying to dance and cut the wallpaper or whatever to fit the fridges panel was something elese-surprized she could cut the material straight!I don't remember folks dancing around like that except at a party. And they weren't trying to do decorating duties.wonder if the folks in the Westinghouse appliance promotion were stoned or something? As what I put earlier----What was in that fridge to get them so dancy and happy? And at the beginning of the mod art show promotion-the woman walking in the woods was sort of creepy.the first promo with Betty Furness demoing the FL Westinghouse washer was more straightforward-Betty wasn't dancing and prancing during the demo. Both washers seemed rather----loaded.

Amana also made "decorator panels" for their fridges, too!
From wood-grains, to mineral, to wild!

YES, Launderess...

The dance those wholesome teens were gyrating to was the "Frug"! I never did that kind of dancing, it wasn't my style! LOL
