Found this put for trash, upon examination, we realized this was never used! We currently have this over at the warehouse now. We even tested this out and it worked.

Wow John that is a Beauty !

It's funny how the Alphabet was on Whirlpool's Dishwashers like kenmore machines.

Do you have the cycle's...

I'm sure maybe Super-Wash is on there.

Have a great Holiday !

I grew up with that exact same model, except the built-in version. Great dishwasher, but very noisy.

This is a trip.

Grandma's Dishwasher, My childhood fridge and a very close model to the WP we had around 1970. That Super Wash is Fantastic. But that machine will let you know it's doing it's job.We chose the Double Armed Whirlpool because of the 2 Spray Arms over a KitchenAid at the time.

Jeez John, a never used machine, what luck! Looks great! How come magnetic dispensers never caught on? Seems like a brilliant idea.

On another note, I always liked Whirlpools top rack idea, with the slanted tines to make the cups sit nicely up there. Slightly problematic when trying to load bowls or saucers. Just requires a bit of finessing on the side where the two rows face each other.

NEVER USED WHIRLPOOL PORTABLE DW

David thanks for posting that great 1969 WP DW literature. The machine I found is one year older [ 1968 ]. I always it was a shame that WP DWs didn't get more market share in the lat e 1960s. At this time the only great DWs were Kitchenaid and Westinghouse for great washing performance. However the WH machines suffered from very poor durability.

that grey porcelain tub. With all that rinsing it should have been as good as the KA of the time. What gives???

If there was a spot of drool on it, that's my bad... I saw that machine up close when I was in Beltsville for the rebirth of the 56 Whirlpool Imperials and it was stunning!
It made me pine for the 1967 Inglis 'Centennial' portable that belonged to the parents of a very good friend of mine... These folks pledged that they would call me when it was time to replace the machine, but they scrapped it when the timer went and they figured I wouldn't want it... SIGH!

Consumer Reports tested portable DWs in 1968

Three machines were check rated: the front loading WP SSF90 ($285) & the top loading WP SSP90 ($232) & Maytag WP600 ($268). Ranked just below these were the front loading WH SCJ5A ($277) & KA KDC56 ($300) because the washing performance was not quite as good as the 3 check rated DWs. As usual, they were only tested with plates & saucers in the lower rack (except for the reverse rack MT) so no great benefits were seen from the upper level wash arm in the WP SSF90.
