This pair of Maytags needs a new home. The washer is an A208 (2-speeed, standard capacity), the dryer is a DG408 (gas, auto dry control, 2 temperatures). They have been my daily drivers for about the past 3 years. This is the washer that gave me balance problems this past fall and, as I'm not mechanically-inclined, I decided to retire this old girl and buy a new Speed Queen. The problem showed up during spins, never did get out-of-balance such that it shut the machine off, but would vibrate (what I considered) excessively. The washer was level, and the lock nuts on the feet are tight. It was suggested that the machine needed it's dampers replaced, but Steve (Gyrafoam) looked it and did not think that was the problem.
Other than this um... irritation, both appliances perform as they should. I want the pair to stay together. The washer has already been disconnected and the dryer will be shortly in order to make room for the new dryer. The pair will be stored in my storage room off the carport. If you have an interest in them please let me know. Hopefully someone who isn't a great distance away will be interested in them so transportation won't be an issue.
