LG Washer

I really like my new LG washer. Very silent, does not take ages in completing a wash cycle.

I tried the medic rinse, which heats up to 40c on the final rinse. Also on the quick wash you can add extra rinses, which I find really good.

My LG Washing machine-----

----Is bigger (27" wide 4.5 cu ft),Spins up to 1300 RPMs and is chery red. Not only a huge capacity but it has 6 different tumble variations that do different things at different times on many differnt programmed cycles. My "Quick Cycle" can be pre-set to last anywhere from 15 to 23 minutes. That depends on the soil level of its load.

Hi Laundromat.

Very pleased with the machine, and very quiet on wash and spin. Just love the medic rinse.

Lovely machine Paul, have always been an LG fan.

Medic rinse? What is this for? I would love a washer that had a true warm rinse, is there more water in this cycle than standard level?

I have been playing with a 2003 LG washer that belonged to a friend of mine who replaced it with another LG. There was an LE error code issue but that seems to be fixed. A couple of minor troubles but all seems well now, have been using it for about a month or so. I'm pretty impressed so far, wish there was more water in rinse but it cleans like a champ. LG had a bit of a sputtering start here in the U.S. - parts & repair troubles, etc. but appear to be working these out. With Sears carrying a large range of LG laundry & refrigeration products now, LG market penetration is growing much more rapidly. Those I know with LG appliances are happy so far, one friend loves her dishwasher calling it the "best ever" she's had.

I have to say my experience with LG SUX! As some here on the club know I had the 3700 combo model I bought in 2004 and it gave problems with leaking. The service was horrible (nobody knew how to fix them) - now the service is somewhat better. But I still would not touch one. I do have to say it was a good in terms of cleaning the clothes. I have to say I think sears made a horrible mistake taking on this design as a primary machine design. Even though some are satified with the improvements the newer designs still take awhile to balance and go into a spin. I do not see anything good about this direct drive technology. Just more of a waste of time and money. I know a few people with the Frigidaire Infinity models that are very happy with them. They wash the clothes much quicker and dont have problems with balancing the load. And are cheaper. So much less drama at less of the cost. I just wish they would make a combo.
Good Luck to the people that have LG's but I just don't want to be their again.
Peter

LG Washer

Hi Paul.

Happy New Year.

As for my Miele. Water had been leaking onto the motor and blew it up, also blew the pcb board and would of cost a lot to repair.

I had a spare Aeg/Electrolux Lavamat, but hated the machine. Poor water levels and so loud on the spin. Our machines are in our heated garage and could even hear it spin from inside the house.

Gansky1, Medic Rinse heats the final rinse water to 40c. I tried it on the medic rinse and they come out nice and warm. The water level is decent on the machine and programme times very good. Love the quick was programme as you are able to choose from 30c or 40c and add extra rinses.

Paul

This is the machine in question. Water levels are very poor, and the noise on spin is so unreal.

it is a spare machine, but not impressed with it

to you to Paul. Shame about the Miele but am glad you like the LG.

Is the quick wash similar to the Miele then? I can have cold, 30 deg or 40 deg and add a extra rinse. With extra rinse selected the cycle time is 37 mins with a final 1300rpm spin.

Quick Wash

Hi Paul.

On quick wash you can choose cold, 30c, 40c, and normal rinse, rinse + or rinse ++, and you can choose a spin up to 1200rpm.

if you choose the 40c and rinse + it takes 40mins, or if you choose 40c and rinse ++ it takes 44mins.

On my LG I can even select intensive on the quick wash ( extra 10 min of tumbling ).

Thanks for the info Paul.

JL, that sounds like a useful feature to have on the quick wash.

Hi JlBrazil.

I tried the intensive on my quick wash and it also adds an extra 10 mins to the programme.

Cheers

Paul
