They are DD Whirlpool machines. I hope to get them if I can find the funding. I posted the thread so they don't go to a non AW.ORG home.

These have fluorescent-lighted panels, IIRC.

And this was the first Electronic Series set for KA!

Notice the smaller auger agitator. The electronic washer only had a two speed motor. The first electronic model did not have the dual action agitator. It had a turquoise barrel with curvey-swirley fins. It agitated on high for I think 4 minutes then on low for the next 6 on Normal wash. Rinse was high speed agitation. The water level graphic is kinda cute. As the water level rises, the levels that have been satisfied show a solid light, but the one immediately above that has yet to be satisfied blinks on and off. They did sort of a cheesy thing with the fluorescent light. It is not full width, but like a 12" tube, I think I remember, although it would be easy to remount the pin holders further apart to have them take a longer tube.

I have only one word of caution about this beautiful set. They date from the late 80s, I believe. The touch control panel components are probably not available. I had the dryer and it had trouble, which is why we found it. Years ago, the components for the touch panel to make it function were in the $300 price range and there was no guarantee that the next thing to go would be available. The model underneath with the mechanical timer is far more dependable so we found a control panel from one and did transplant surgery. I would be sure these work perfectly before buying them. If they do not work perfectly, they would be candidates, at a reduced price for control panel transplants because of the porcelain tops and nice trim. And very important, they should be surge protected.

These would be a prize addition to a collectors inventory, but probably not a good long term daily driver. I am sure that parts are no longer available. So high and low searching for NOS spares would be high on the list.

Malcolm

Plus, the mechanical rapid advance set would be an ideal substitute as well...
