Hi all- I installed a new pump in my ge filter flo today and i put it on wash and nothing leaked or anything, so i filled it up on large to do a large load. When i started the wash i noticed that the filter flo stream had a small amount of water coming out. Then on the rinse it was the same way! Any ideas on why it might be this way or any ways to help solve this problem would be appreciated. Hope someone can help!

sounds like there must be a wad of lint or other plug in the filter flo flume or elsewhere-flume on my filter flo once started to plug with a wad of lint, causing some water to get past the gasket at the top of the tub and leak out underneath the washer... |

Thanks for ur opinion, but actuall about two days ago is when i did my last load of laundry and the filter flo stream was "strong" during the wash. when i went to go put fabric softner in the rinse and this is when i noticed a problem. There was not a stream at all. I noticed some water on the floor when i pulled the washer out to take off the back pannel. Come to find out there was water coming out of the "water relief hole" in the pump. When this happens it means ur pump is worn out. And when i replaced the pump there was no lint or anything in the pipes nore the old pump. So i have no idea!

If you had poor flow from the start I would have said the new pump is defective......
but somewhere you have a clog......I would start with the port from the outter tub......with the top opened, I would tilt the inner tub and see if there is anything blocking the "in" port......it could be a simple string snagged and built up to a wad of lint down inside the hose...... but also not unusual to find pumps of different flow rates......I had them just hit into the pan, and others shoot way past the agitator...pump out can be the same, I had them propel the drain hose out of the sink.... |
