The seller states it's a 1964 model.  I don't recall any dishwashers looking like this back in 1964.  Could he have meant 1954??

1954 - not - 1964.   Would this be a KDP-2?

Photos for the archive.

It looks like a KD12 with the red indicator light and chrome ring around the timer dial.

Hobart discontinued this DW long before 1964.

actually 1964 is about right

because the style was changed to the 4 way hydrosweep on the 15 series and they came out in 1964. the previous machines, 14, 12, 11, 10 models all looked basically like this. i have (3) 12 models and a 14 and an 11 and the tubs all look the same to me!

the kdp-2 was the top load version on these kitchenaids. i picked up a kdp-2 summer before last in buffalo and just plugged it in last week for the first time. runs great, no leaks. gonna do a post on it soon i think.

The front panel and racks were changed quite a bit on the 14 Custom series  - very different from this 12

i pop in on occasion. i also just looked at my "14" model that i have in storage. i had forgotten it's door panel and handle were much more modern and different looking than the one in the above pic. i'm also guessing a 12 series on that one above. it looks exactly like the 12 model i have in my kitchen right now.

for anyone interested here is the kitchenaid production log that's been posted a hundred times before on this site! always good to have a copy for any kitchenaid lovers out there!

i see the 12 models were made from 57 thru 60. so i guess 1954 isn't that far off!
