My friend tells me the bearing is really noisy and wants to attempt the repair himself. He has fixed his dryer this way and wants to give it a go.

How easy is it to change the bearing on this model WT761 Hotpoint Ultima.

Any instructions at all?

REgards
Richard.

welded tub

Hi Richard,
Some of these machines are fitted with the welded tub, some not.
As a quick guide if the machine has a pump filter (behind plinth right hand side) it has a welded tub if not it has a splittable tub.

It is a very involved tub out job and you will have to replaced the cross piece and bearings to ensure your not doing it again in six months. Good luck.
