My mom's dryer, Whirlpool LHE5700W1, serial M04618217 has a "start" button that has gone bad.

I have never done appliance repair, but this seems an easy enough fix. If you can recommend a good online parts resource I'd appreciate it, as well as any links to manuals or anything. I don't think I'll need it, but it would just be nice to know where it is in case I do.

I will be there next weekend, so want to order part and have it shipped. Will take my brushes and vacuum attachment and give it a good cleaning while I'm there, since I doubt its ever been done!

WP DRYER START BUTTON

What exactly happens when the start button is pushed ? The start button and switch is often replaced to no avail when dryers fail to start, this part almost never fails.

clarification

Best way to describe would be the button is stuck in the "pushed" position.
If the timer is set and the door is closed, the dryer will run until you either turn the timer selection to "off" or open the door.

Thanks.

WP DRYER START BUTTON

The start button is a child safety feature in case a child opens the door when the dryer is running and either climbs in or throws something in. It will keep the dryer from restarting when the door is closed again until the start button is pushed again. You may be able to leave the dryer in this condition if you feel that their is no likelihood that children will play with or around the dryer.
