I recently had this strange dream about this GM-Frigidaire 1-18 washer we were getting off of eBay, and I also dreamed about a 1-18 with the front panel off of it, it was off-balance(what does a GM-Frigidaire 1-18 washer do when it gets off-balance during spin)? Then I dreamed about three or more 1-18 washers in a big room! Strange dream!

I've had a dream, several times, in which I'm going through a huge house, with many hallways and rooms, checking each room. Each one has a kitchen or kitchenette, with a different dishwasher, some very old, most in dilapidated condition. Most of them I try turning on, and some are broken, water runs out the front or whatever. I'm thinking how much fun it must have been to live in this house when it was all new and everything was working, with so many different kitchens and dishwashers to use. One of my aunts is always there, I have no idea why.

Another recurring dream, I'm at a flea market or 2nd-hand shop, looking for washers. In one case, the shop is tucked away on a very old street, with lots of old stores. Another one is at the end of a street, a dead end, where one can just about drive on into the store. Another is out at the edge of town, sort of on a side road. Anyway, there's always TONS of stuff, small kitchen appliances, various parts and machinery. When I find the washers, there are many of the special vintage models, and I start making arrangments to buy several, but there's the problem of how to get them home ... then I wake up.

I am SO glad I'm not the only one!

I too, dream of appliances (when I'm not dreaming of boring church meetings, or "NC-17" matters.) What an assortment, eh? :)

My most recent dream of appliances involved a pink Maytag set and a Turquoise Frigidaire set. (Were the Rollermatics ever in Turquoise?) Oddly enough, they were in full colour. Usually I dream in black and white, or sepia (that brownish-red.)

My experience with Out of Balance 1-18's is that they will not gain full rpm speed, or walk all over the floor.

Don't even try to run one of these on an unsecure surface, all hell will break loose.

I have two recurring dreams. In the first, it is current times and I am prowling the basement of the apartment building on Adelphi Street in Brooklyn where Aunt Jennie lived and tucked under a blanket in a corner is her Norge Timeline, still as new looking when it was taken out of her apartment in 1971. Of course, I have a truck waiting out front to haul my treasure back to Connecticut and when I get it home I find it only needs a new pump and some minor tweaking to restore it to its "Mighty Norge" status.

In the second dream, I am in a small vintage supermarket and find to my delight that the detergent aisle is loaded with all the favorite vintage brands in the appropriate sizes - regular, giant, king and home laundry size. In the dream I keep thinking "I must be dreaming" and just when I am ready to start clearing the shelves with my selections, I wake up.

Wow, I`ve done that too. Dreaming of an estate sale I was outside and the owner called me over and asked me if I knew any one who yould like an old washer and dryer. I said I would like to see them. They were in an old sun porch and still being used. Frigidaires! Of course I woke up in a cold sweat speaking jibberish!
