I was finally able to find the ge filter flo washer and dryer set i been looking for, that is thanks to craigslist! Had to go to Blossburg PA. to get them. Long drive but was worth it. I knew when i saw them on the internet that they were mine lol. I have never saw the washer or dryer like these here where i live, that is except for the one my mom had when i was just a kid. Ive looked everywhere i knew to like at habbitat, all the used appliance stores and everywhere else. I have wanted these for so long. Here r the pics....

I know how satisfying it can be to finally find that long sought after elusive set. They seem to be in a remarkable state of preservation. Either very lightly used or very well maintained. Do you know anything about their usage history?

Usage history...

doug's profile picture
The guy that i bought them off of said they were in the house that he bought back in June of 2011. He said he was the only one who lived there, so ther for im sure they didnt see much usage from him. I dont know about the people that owned it before. They both were manufactured in June of 1983.

out of those-repairs will be needed down the line eventually, but so easy with
filter flos.

I am actually in the process of getting a youtube account actually, i will upload videos soon. And yes repairs r usually easy on filter flo's, especially when u know almst everything about them lol.Just wondering, what does the BOL and TOL's mean i never really understood it.

Doug.....BOL & TOL

mickeyd's profile picture

Bottom Of the Line, pared down economy model

Top Of the Line, all the bells and whistles, as they say.

Funny, I just came up from washin' my kicks in the GE, Mini-level without the basket, ramp agi, Gentle wash speed. The ramp agitator was perfect for this. They came out great.

Glad you got your dreams. Wonderful! You must be soooooo happy.

Is the dryer Large capacity also?.......hard to tell, but it should be considering the age and year.....the larger ones have a concave in the rear of the drum....also the back of the machine has a 2 inch extension......

these are super great machines....I have 4 washers and 3 dryers...enjoy.....

yours is similar to mine....machines with these cycles, temps, speeds, and levels.....freakin endless.....you could not ask for more.....

you will use that MINI level with or without that MiniBasket, and the MiniQuick cycle, more than you will ever know.....

only thing I would recommend....flip the fill flume over on itself.....directs all water to the load, really great for the spin rinse.......drama of the waterfall ain't bad either.....also while the top is up, use a cable tie around the lid switch for operation while the lid is open...

right back at ya

How do you fix the flume? Last night while washing my kicks on Mini Level with MiniQuick button on, I watched everything, and the spray is a rip-off, most of it going into the outer tub. Do yo just twist the whole thing? Please take your time with me. I'm slow and thumbsy.

Michael, talk about washer drama in a picture! I hope the floor mopping was worth it. Actually, whom am I kidding? Of COURSE it was!!! LOL!

Doug, that set looks so clean and minty! Congrats on a wonderful score! Now all we have to do is find the large opening mini basket to go with that big filter pan...

OK Mickey....here we go....this first one I just used scissors and cut it straight across......which will flow water into the tub like my Mothers 63 did....nice wide fan spray.....but this is permanent

Yogi's trick.....

works wonderfully. Just spread the rubber back on itself, it will stay in place. tons of spray, close the lid, excellent rinses.

Next version.....this is where your thumbs come in handy......all I did was flipped it over on itself, this is reversable, done in seconds, just don't turn machine on until you have snapped the top back down, again, a really nice wide fan spray down across the clothes, you may even notice better rinsing, and more suds coming out of the hose....

and of course while the top is open.....a simple cable tie, wrapped around the lid switch will allow it to run with the lid open, again, reversable!......let me know how you made out....

Intense close-ups--How wonderful!

mickeyd's profile picture

How the sunb back looks just like a nose, too funny, but I'll probably do the circumcision.

Thanks, Guys, now I can have a proper spray rinse, so spoiled as I am by the Easy Rinse cone. I can't wait to do it.

Andy, it happened in the garage, concrete floor on a slope to the drain, no problem, When more senile, I'll try it in the kitchen on a day when the floor is dirty.

Wow Mickey.......what a true honor to be considered.....if we all carry a little Terry in all of us, it would be a better world......gone, but never forgotten....

I am curious as to how you made out, and what you think of the results....

for a softener dispenser, you can get one on ebay, check the link.......send him your model number and he will tell you if this one is for yours, this is a great guy to work with, if this is not the right one, he may have the one, just not listed, ....... I have gotten parts off him, that he did not have listed, and still inexpensive......

Thanks Yogitunes for the link-I've contacted Pandorasoem to see if I can get a dispenser for my machine. I believe the part number I am looking for is WH47M33 which from what I can see looks exactly like the one in the photo above, but I guess if the one on Ebay will fit my filter, it's better than nothing.

Thanks too for the tip about flipping the fill flume inside out. Tried that tonight on my machine, and it works great. Definitely a better spray pattern, especially during the spin spray rinse.

I don't know why they have so many part numbers for the same part.......and theres nothing different about them....all the same style and color.....but as long as it fits, and it should, your good to go........GE FF only had 2 sizes of filters, either the wide, or the thin, and the late 70's thru the 90's all had the same type of center post.......

but that new spray pattern is amazing, isn't it?.....especially since it now sprays the clothes, and not behind the tub....more effective!

let me know if you find one on ebay, I can still check around....they still turn up here and there.....

So happy, Martin

mickeyd's profile picture

Just did it. At first the rubber was too stiff to turn back, so pouring a pyrex 2 cup of boiling water slowly over, softened it up, and she bent back real nice.

But the shocker: as I watched the waterfall spray I realized that by lifting the rim veil, the stream would reach the mini-basket. So I stopped the spray rinse and popped in the basket, YIKES, a perfect reach, and it works with or without the filter pan. Thanks again,

There was one Turquoisedude moment when I realized that the filter-flo nozzle did not go all the way in, causing a filter-drizzleYell so I had to pop the top again and fix.

All these years of disappointment that a 10 minute fix resolved.Laughing Many thanks, Mister!

Is there any noticeable difference

mickeyd's profile picture

in the spray patterns if you cut it off instead if folding it back. I think you got both in operation at your house. I was going to cut at first, but got too focused and the razor tool was far away.

And if you're uncomfortable holding the veil, you could always cut out a nice inch or so, but there'd be a lot of flying water as if anybody here minds. I'm going down for more fun and experimentation. Go try the spray with the mini-basket. It's so new and so cool--honest.

I'm from PA originally and we had a lot of good GE sets there when I was growing up. Took me 6 months to find my dream machines. I'm moving back to that area and hope to find some more!

Good luck with them!
