Can someone please identify the model of this Maytag.  My mom had one just like it only I have never been able to find another one exactly like it looking through advertising and brochures to know the model.  It was fairly basic as far as the machine goes.

Fabri Matic 3 Wash Temps, all Cold Rinse, 1 Speed.

I like Mine. Helical Transmission.  But I could be wrong.

98% certainty that's an A212.
They were made from about 1985 to about 1991.
Machines from 85 - 88 had the "old" long-stroke transmission
later machines used the short-stroke transmission.

If you look closely at the machine you will see that it only lists 3 water levels on the slide. That means that it's a "standard" (16 gal.) capacity machine as opposed to the "large" (19 gal.)

transmission

Would it have been possible that my mom had the same model with the orbital?  It seems hers had the faster stroke.

Hers had the infinite water level but only had small, med, and large markings on the slider.  She also had the coppertone looking knob and accents.

That would certainly be possible. Here's the page of the brochure with the A212.

And here's a tub shot of an A212 with the orbital transmission.

a212 - no bleach

Did they make an a212 without a bleach dispenser?  Her's was completed identical to the A212 with no bleach dispenser and I remember she got the set for mothers day 1989 or 1990

Don't know for certain. It was not unusual for a feature like the bleach dispenser to "disappear" during the run of a model, especially on a lower end machine. I was frankly quite surprised to see that the A212 was listed as having one in the brochure I posted.

it wasnt missed.  Mom hardly ever used bleach.  She is afraid of it and always took anything that needed bleaching or whitened to Mammaw LOL.
