1929 fridge MAYBE but definitely NOT 1939

GE stopped making the Monitor Top fridge in 1937/38 and the last ones were a lot more streamlined and art deco than that...PAT COFFEY

I realize that Marion as I looked at the ad myself as well...I am sorry if I made you think otherwise. The only real danger in using that fridge would be if there was a coolant leak as these machines did not use freon (as that was not invented until 1931 by Frigidaire) but sulphur dioxide and metal formate which is very toxic if leaked into the air. To be honest these machines are so robust that a lot of them are still running with the original coolant put in them at the factory so it very well might never present the problem.......Patrick Coffey

Oh no you didnt .. i didnt get offended by it at all .. i just thought i woudld post that incase some one was interested in them just to have around and if they were near ..

I remember my mom haveing a ringer washer something like that .. and im 45 ..ya it took my dad along time to buy her a new one .. he was just cheap ..lol..

 its a 1936 GE and it does have the sulphur dioxide in it. Cools great when its working!

Very energy efficient.

The only time i really seen a fridge like that was on American Pickers .. they bought one and i dont think it was in the good of shape ..lol
